1. The Reverie Saigon

The Reverie Saigon is well-established as the fanciest hotel in the whole city with its extravagant look and fantastic service and facilities. Having an Italian-influenced elegant design and furniture, The Reverie Saigon will surely make a strong impression on any guest even though its main entrance is understated compared to other hotels in the area. The lobby is gorgeously furnished with the finest European craftsmanship, exquisite golden marble, mosaics along the walls, and spectacularly glowing chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. All of this together with an impressive porch at the entrance will make you feel as if you just walked into a royal palace packed with only world-class fittings.

Apart from The Reverie’s interior decor, you will enjoy a sense of ultimate extravagance from their proud collection of cars: Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes Benz, Maybach… Who doesn’t want an airport transfer from these shiny babies? The luxury of this high-rise hotel seems to never end with other fancy hospitality services: regular dinners from Michelin-star chefs, exclusive club lounge and bar, deluxe spa, and other dazzling public areas.

There are a total of 286 rooms in The Reverie Saigon, all designed in an Italian theme to match the lobby. Equipped with premium amenities, luxury Frette linens, and other rich details, accommodation in The Reverie Saigon will give you an ultra-luxurious experience. This prestigious hotel is set right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City in District 1 on Nguyen Hue and Dong Khoi street. You can easily travel to many famous sights and landmarks in the city, and some of them are just within walking distance: City Hall, Bitexco Financial Tower, Ben Thanh Market, etc.

With all these indisputable levels of luxury, The Reverie Saigon is the only Vietnamese member in the Leading Hotels of the World collection, and also the most expensive hotel in Ho Chi Minh City!

Set in the corner of busy Hai Ba Trung street and Lam Son Square, this grand and imposing building is very easy to recognize as it faces two major streets in District 1. Surrounded by a green mass of coconut trees, the Park Hyatt entrance makes it stand out among other properties in the neighborhood. With this location, you can walk to City Opera House in two minutes, to the Notre Dame Cathedral in nine minutes, and tons of other attractions. You will also find European-style restaurants, a bar, spa, and a fitness center inside the property as well so you can enjoy daily conveniences on-site.

3. Caravelle Saigon

This is another opulent hotel in Lam Son Square neighborhood, adding another luxurious ornament to this area. Unlike the other hotels mentioned above, the highlight of Caravelle Saigon lies in its history (besides its high-end quality). It was first introduced in 1959, therefore it  witnessed Ho Chi Minh City through wartime. It was even a noted location during this period. The press in Saigon at the time called attention to the use of Italian marble and bullet-proof glass of the Caravelle. It was praised as a building with cutting-edge design, making it home to many international offices and news bureaus at the time.

Now after having been renovated, Caravelle Saigon has a sharp design and architecture to represent one of the most historical buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. With classic and polished furnishings and well-equipped amenities, accommodations in Caravelle will simply give you some memorable nights for your trip. There are three types of rooms: deluxe and opera, signature, and suites. For regular tourists, deluxe, opera and signature rooms can be your best choice as they have sufficient size and spectacular views to the city. The last option is more suitable for long-stay travelers as they include kitchens in a spacious suite.

There is also a restaurant, cafe, rooftop bar, fitness and spa available on the property. Stay in Caravelle and you will enjoy a simple yet elegant luxury!

4. InterContinental Saigon

This is another famous hotel chain from a large hotel group that has made its way to many countries all over the world. Located in one of the most iconic streets in District 1, InterContinental Saigon has been an upscale name alongside many grand business buildings in the area.

This posh international-standard hotel has four types of rooms with sizes ranging from 38 to 202 square meters. Rooms are built in a comfortable and modern style, including all kinds of hospitality services to provide you a premium travel experience. Suites are much larger with separate living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, making your stay as comfy as possible. 5. The Myst Dong Khoi

Even though it is located on a busy street in central District 1, The Myst Dong Khoi Hotel particularly has an interesting relaxed and tranquil vibe against the familiar hustle of Ho Chi Minh City. Being a “newbie” in the luxury and fancy hotel team in the city, The Myst carries a breath of fresh air into the game.

The Myst Dong Khoi
img: @TheMystDongKhoi

While most of the other five-star hotels in the neighborhood have a classic or redefined European style, this upmarket hotel is like the fancy spot of the young with its innovative look and architecture. The hotel is cleverly designed with geometric windows and balconies scattered across the building. These gaps are beautifully decorated with hanging gardens in a certain pattern, making The Myst look extremely artsy. If seen from far away, you can easily mistake it for a new art center in the town! Other than a lavish accommodation provider, The Myst Dong Khoi can also be an amazing Instagram-worthy spot as well.

The Myst Dong Khoi

Surprisingly, with that kind of contemporary look outside, rooms in The Myst have an exact opposite design theme. They will bring you to the homes of old Saigon with antique interior decor like vintage telephones, floral windows, wood furniture, and local craftworks. Each room has a different name presenting the key theme: Dong Khoi room, Saigon City room, Verdant Calm room, or Serene Corner room. Nostalgic as it is, The Myst Dong Khoi is still able to accommodate you with high luxury of the old times in combination with comfortable modern amenities. It is such a seamless blend between a retro vibe with impressive upscale facilities.

This hotel also features a lot of amazing coffee shops, bars, and restaurants on-site with that elegant and graceful vintage style. After a day traveling around the city, you can recharge here with high-quality local food in a beautifully designed restaurant.

6. Villa Song Saigon

I first want to make clear that this hotel is not located in District 1 but I have included it here for a reason. The Villa Song sits in a picturesque spot in a very busy expat neighborhood just a romantic bridge away from the city center: District 2 – Thao Dien area. A lot of fancy and European-inspired stores and buildings sprung up around this ward, making it an amazing place for foreigners to stay. If you prefer staying farther away from the crowds and indulging in an international Western zone, this luxury boutique hotel in District 2 is a good choice.

Villa Song Saigon

Located just by the Saigon river, Villa Song Saigon offers a poetic view that can ease the urban heat from city center after a long day exploring. It has more than 20 rooms, each of which has a distinct layout and size, so you have a lot of choices based on your needs. Their design is stunning, especially the riverside rooms and suites. For those who have been to the Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll notice a slight resemblance. A touch of contemporary paired with lavish Indochina decor is Villa Song’s aesthetic. With absolutely top-notch wood furnishings in an interestingly retro style, these amazing suites will take you to the classy Saigon of the 90s.

Villa Song Saigon

Another special feature offered by the Villa Song Saigon is that they also have connecting rooms for couples and small families. This is an ideal accommodation when you want your whole group to share some time together but still have your own privacy. Also, it’s highly recommended that you travel as small groups to enjoy their deluxe experience best, because the large rooms and suites are especially comfortable.

More than that, Villa Song Saigon has a unique feature that none of the five-star hotels I mentioned above have. They offer free shuttle boat service from their hotel to Cau Mong Pier, which is very close to the city center and many tourist attractions are just within walking distance from here! This is the real reason why I have included the Villa Song in this article. Try a stay at this luxurious riverside hotel and you will have a one-of-a-kind experience in Saigon!
